Supplementary Interventions in Reading and Math

Research shows one-on-one tutoring is the most effective way to reach children who are struggling in the classroom. Focused attention in a nurturing environment allows below-proficient students -- tutees and tutors -- to grow academically, socially and emotionally.

Anyone who reads at the fourth-grade level can tutor -- and cross-age tutors benefit as much as the students they mentor! Programs are flexible enough to be used during school, extended days or summers; in school or in community settings.

Learning Together tutoring programs are unique because of the training and scripting built into the lessons. Our scientifically-based instructional programs:

  • Accelerate academic achievement
  • Promote social and emotional growth
  • Benefit English Language Learners
  • Align with state and national standards
  • Raise whole-school performance
  • Improve school climate
  • Show results in the first year!

Reading Together™ builds comprehension, fluency, vocabulary and writing skills for below-proficient students in grades two through six.

Writing Together uses the rich authentic literature of Reading Together to help students make connections, respond to text, and practice creative and expository writing.

Math Togetherfocuses on problem-solving, fact mastery and critical thinking for grades three through five. Word problems are based on passages about key events in U.S. history.

History Together takes an in-depth look at U.S. history from an African American perspective. It extends Math Together lessons, or makes a perfect reading curriculum for Black History Month.

Learning Together has been proven effective across all NCLB subgroups, allowing districts to target students who may impact whole-school performance. It's a cost-effective solution for bringing at-risk students to grade level and beyond. Together we can raise student achievement by the power of 2!
