Our goal is to provide highly effective supplemental programming, backed by the best customer support team
in field!
Since 1995, Learning Together
has provided targeted academic interventions to help struggling
students in elementary through high school. We currently serve more
than 300 urban, rural and suburban school districts throughout the
country, including Cleveland, Ohio; Montgomery County, Maryland; Clark
County, Nevada; Cherry Creek, Colorado; and Irving ISD, Texas.
Our
original program, Reading Together Grade Two, is a one-on-one peer teaching intervention that helps second-grade students
improve fluency and comprehension. It was developed by The
University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Guilford County Schools,
NC; Hebrew University; and the National Council of Jewish Women
Research Institute for Innovation in Education. It was based on Yachad ("Together"), successfully used in Israeli schools for nearly 30 years. |
Reading Together Grade Two™ focuses on fluency and comprehension for beginning readers. The same proven peer teaching methodology has been used to develop a
continuum of interventions.
Reading Together Grade Three™ adds strong critical thinking and writing
components; it also builds the skills students need for
mandated end-of-grade tests.
Reading Together Intermediate™ offers advanced
comprehension strategies for informational and procedural text for
fourth, fifth and sixth graders.
Reading Together Secondary™ uses high-interest literature, career pathways and 21st Century skills to engage and challenge middle- and high-school students at risk of dropping out.
Writing Together™ extends Reading Together lessons to help students make connections, respond to text and practice creative and expository writing.
Math Together™ is
an interdisciplinary program that teaches critical thinking and problem
solving based on passages about U.S. history. Targets third, fourth and fifth graders.
Get Ready 4 Algebra™ fills knowledge gaps for middle and high school students to prepare for pre-algebra and Algebra I courses. Emphasis is on commonly identified areas of weakness: fractions, rational numbers and study skills.
When they asked me to be a tutor, I thought, 'Why me? I'm not a good reader.' But guess what? I'm a great teacher and much better reader now! -- eighth-grade tutor |
